Victor screamed, loudly, his voice echoing down the bowels of his...Wait. did I just scream in my head?
Victor blinked a few times, watching the government men advance on
Elywen and En, unbelieving. He could not believe that Elywen acted so
suspicious! She's not a thief like you, dumbass. Victor clenched his
teeth in a grimace, trying to decide what to do.
Victor was never a brave man. In fact, one could say he was the
opposite of brave. He stole people’s money for a living. He was a burden
to his family and to his society. However, for the first time in his
life, Victor felt compelled to act. Not necessarily out of courage, but
by the sheer energy of the moment. His blood was being electrified with
liquid adrenaline, coursing up his arms like some sort of bizarre high.
He shivered in its embrace, and let his instincts turn on.
The brick sitting not 3 feet away caught his eye. He almost laughed out loud, at the sheer luck of his find. Deus ex fucking machina, baby!
He smiled and reached over for the brick. In 5 minutes, he would be
regretting this decision, but for now, he was almost giddy with
excitement. It felt like it weighed almost nothing in his hands.
He measured the distance, and found he could easily hit the nearest
agent with little effort. Cocking his eye, Victor pulled back his arm,
took a deep breath, and lunged his hand forward. The brick flew in the
air, its dull red surface whistling majestically as it flew. Victor
could hear a loud Snap as the brick collided with the agents
head, snapping his neck and causing a fountain of crimson to flow out of
the wound. He gaped at his bloodied hand for a second, then plummeted
to the ground, slamming his face to the disgusting ground and causing
another snap, this time of his skull.
Before Victor could even blink, the second agent had whirled around
and fired a single shot. Victor felt a searing pain in his shoulder as
his collarbone crackled and shattered. He tried to let out a scream, but
he was already falling, falling, falling. As the ground came inevitably
closer, and as unconsciousness did as well, Victor felt time slip away
into a meaningless spiral of pain and agony.
