Elywen's strong grip surprised En, her squeak again nearly inaudible
En's bad ears. "Time to go!" En actually had something else in mind, and
again the storm gray orbs showed hints of annoyance and anger. The
former voice, which showed humbleness, melted into rage. "You idiot! Now
they'll really think we did something illegal! Why are you paupers so
brainless?! Stop running before they start to open fire!"
En desperately tried to stop Elywen but her grasp and speed when
fueled by adrenaline was impeccable. Even if it was impossible to stop
her, short scream of pain flew from on of the agent's mouths, forcing
the two, or at least En, to turn around just to see what had happened.
No doubt, Victor had further worsened the situation by throwing a rather
heavy brick with amazing aim towards the agents, knocking him flat to
the ground, a spray of blood painting the dirt flooring. "Dammit! Why
are you people being so--"
Gunfire had cut off whatever insult En intended to throw. It was
instinctive for En to duck for cover, but the mere sight of the angle
the gun was pointed in was enough for all that to be reduced to a simple
flinch, eyes wide and alarmed. The bullet wasn't aimed towards either
Elywen or En, but rather the thrower of the brick and it had hit its
target. It was Victor's turn to fall, the bullet lodging itself into his
collarbone, dangerously close to the neck where death would've been
impossible to evade. En tossed a mixed expression towards the fallen
comrade, switching constantly between fear and rage, where the clichéd
line of screaming-the-fallen's-name-in-extreme-shock would have been
repeated again if En had known what Victor's name was.
The relationship between them set the two far enough where En
wouldn't've come rushing to Victor's aid. Rather, concern for being shot
quickly overwhelmed that and En instinctively bent forward, black
gloved hand resting forcefully on the heavily bandaged arm. But before
actually unveiling the arm, En seemed to hesitate; knowing that any
second wasted exposed them longer than needed. "Dammit... No point
killing myself over these guys... I'll just go with the old fashioned
way..."
Reaching to the belt wrapped around that thin waist, En whipped out a
pistol as well, firing rapidly towards the still standing agent. Luck
wasn't entirely present at the time, and a good deal of the bullets
served only in frightening the agent into withdrawing a bit, seeking for
cover. En feared stopping, as it would only give openings for the
agents to fire back. Instead, En's angered voice flowed to Victor.
"Get the f*** up nameless! Do you want to die in your sleep?!"
Casting a quick glance towards Victor's fallen body, En quickly gave up
on reviving him, instead turning to Elywen, well aware of the quickly
depleting bullets in the pistol. "Get him up! Do something! Whack him,
stab him! I don't care! Just get him up and get out of here!"
