(OOC: Sorry for the delay! @___@;;)
Elywen was surprised at how dusty the church had gotten while she
was away. It had only been roughly 4 months, maybe more, since she had
last visited. The church had been her old home before she decided to
move out into a place that was closer to the market. It had been
abandoned for several years and no one bothered to maintain it, much
like the other buildings in the city. It was left to rot, even by the
priests long ago who worshipped the gods enshrined here. Perhaps because
this was one of the buildings that were used to house scrolls of the
runes that were banned years earlier. Elywen waved the air, attempting
to make way for some breath of air without inhaling the thick sludge of
dust, and turned to the two as they entered the church. "No one should
suspect that we're here... At least I hope so..." Her eyes began to
wander the abandoned church, recollecting all the paintings and carvings
that once stood proudly on the walls. They were all faded now,
forgotten, and maybe that was a good thing.
"Hey, what the fuck is with you? Why are you such a creep?" Elywen
turned sharply to the two. They weren't going to go at it again were
they? Now was hardly the time to continue fighting, especially since all
three of them had become targets for the agents. She didn't resent the
fact that she had acted so negatively toward En, he had deserved it, but
if they ever needed some kind of cooperation, it was now. Much to her
relief, Victor seemed to reconcile, drawing away from the breaking
point. "I owe you both my life. Thank you. My name is...Victor."
A smile spread across Elywen's weary face and she seated herself
down on a pew in front of Victor. She had gotten tired of not knowing
what to call him. "I'm Elywen... I wish we could have introduced
ourselves under more favorable conditions..." She sighed, resting her
chin on the back of the pew. Her entire body seemed to ache with
exhaustion, even though they hadn't exactly exerted a lot of energy
while running from the agents.
"Hmph. It's En." Elywen turned her eyes up to the frail boy, a frown
replacing her smile. He could have at least looked at them in the face
when he introduced himself! "Or whatever it is you want to call me.
Creep has a nice ring to it, if you prefer." En's comment only seemed to
deepen Elywen's frown, but she refrained from shouting at him in
return. She was just too tired.
She turned her eyes back to Victor, the bloodstain on his shirt
reminding her of his wound, and she leapt to her feet. "We should really
get that wound fixed up..." Her eyes quickly began to scan the dusty
shelves that rested against the church walls. Some of them were empty,
the scrolls of runes burned to ashes long ago. She searched her memory
as she walked over to a cabinet. She remembered, while she had stayed
here that she had picked up some scraps of fabric that she decided to
stow away for later use. She threw the cabinet doors open and spotted
the faded rags stuffed in the corner. "Well, I have these... but I don't
know how we can get your wound cleaned..." She snatched these up,
returning to where Victor and En were. She held out the rags and looked
at Victor apologetically. "I'm not too good with medicine..."
