[Nukie's Post]
Victor followed Elywen automatically. His feet shuffled noisily on
their own with no interference from his mind. His mind was completely
focused on the sucking pain he felt in his shoulder. His vision was
partly obscured by some red haze, and he could feel his limbs tingling
with blood loss. He staggered along the streets, vaguely aware of the
agent's heels clicking close behind them.
As Elywen approached a large abandoned church, Victor immediately
forgot about his pain. His eyes widened in a huge realization, blood
still flowing freely down his chest. He remembered this church. When
Victor was very little, he had stumbled onto its front porch with severe
dehydration and starvation plaguing him. He hadn't remembered much, but
he remembered the caresses of the nurses and the bright, glowing
stained glass shimmering above him like a heavenly dream. It had been
years since he'd been this far south of his home.
Before Victor could speak, Elywen was running around back, followed
by En. Victor followed, a new sense of urgency filling him. He dashed in
through the back door of the church and saw it's immense beauty.
The pews were wooden, but the floor was still a shiny marble, ivy
and green lovingly strewn in intricate patterns around the church. The
stained glass was broken, but Victor still saw how the light reflected
onto the divine man before him. He gaped and sat down on a pew,
breathing heavily in both pain and excitement. The adrenaline was
pumping heavily.
"It's been so long...” Victor saw En staring at him, and anger
immediately flashed into his brain like a drug. "Hey, what the fuck is
with you? Why are you such a creep?" Victor realized how harsh his words
sounded and lowered his head. He blinked several times and whispered,
"I owe you both my life. Thank you. My name is...Victor."
