"I....I can't carry him by myself..."
Elywen's words only served to fuel En's anger which had already
risen to quite considerable levels partially by each mis-step the party
had made since meeting the agents. En darted a vicious glare towards
Elywen, constantly switching back and forth to make sure that the agents
hadn't begun to fire back. "You worthless--Why are you so worthless?!"
That one moment En took on checking Elywen's stature had given agent
the chance he needed to return fire. The agent's own bullet ricocheted
off of the floor, skimming En's foot. Soon, En's own pistol had depleted
of bullets and the agent's own gun fire pounded from his own gun. For
the moment being, his aim was horribly off, the adrenaline pounding in
his veins enough to make his hands tremble. But steadily, his aim was
improving. Instead of rushing directly to help Elywen, En could only
scream back at them. "I'm kinda busy right now!"
To avoid any direct hits, En took cover on the other side of the
alleyway, to an angle where both Elywen and Victor were in sight. Soon
when all three targets had escaped from easy firing range, the agent had
stopped firing. To further relieve En of any more stress, Victor had
finally gained consciousness, staggering slowly to his feet. It didn't
seem like he was in any shape to be running, but as long as he had a
pair of working legs, it didn't matter. En used the breath of silence to
reload the emptied pistol.
They didn't have much time left. The agent had already called for
reinforcements and the loud beating of propellers against wind soon
filled the alleyway. They would be overcome in seconds. Soon enough the
firing had resumed, this time coming from En's own weapon.
En quickly covered the distance from wall to wall, firing several
shots to force the agent back into cover. "Okay okay! Let's save the
sappy hugs for later!" En rudely shoved Elywen and Victor forward, teeth
clenched tightly, voice seething through in a strained hiss. "Please
tell me you have another place to go to!"
