Elywen darted a glance at En, the frown on her face deepening. She
looked ready to speak, ready to lash out at the boy in some kind of
spiteful tirade, but urgency changed her mind. She felt too exposed in
the open like she was, despite being flanked by tall, concrete
buildings. Her lips came to a close, pressed into her frown and she
looked away.
"Alright, alright... Follow me..." She spoke, her voice low. Her
feet, covered in a simple pair of worn shoes, perhaps one of the few
pairs that existed within the city, broke into a brisk step. She
clutched her zither to her side protectively, but keeping it in a place
that would not hinder her step. Her voice flowed on as she walked, not
turning around to see if Victor or En were behind her. "I don't normally
like to show strangers my home, but I'll make it a refugee home if were
talking about the government!" A small, nervous laugh fell from her
mouth, interuppted by the bounce in her step.
She suddenly came to a halt, her breath caught in her throat. Her
cerulean eyes laid upon several black-clad figures, men dressed the very
same as the figures within the helicopter. Their backs were to them,
apparently engaged in quiet conversation. The sound of helicopter blades
still beat in the distance, and the only possible reason Elywen could
think of was that the government had dispatched more than one copter to
the city. She didn't waste another moment upon thought. She began to
rapid backstep, her eyes fixated upon the men before her. They had yet
to spot her and she intended with all the power she held to keep it that
way.
